Top Ten Tuesday ~ The 10 Books I'd save if My House was on Fire!

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created here at The Broke and the Bookish. This feature was created because we are particularly fond of lists here at The Broke and the Bookish. We'd love to share our lists with other bookish folks and would LOVE to see your top ten lists!

So this list is going to show off my UBER-eclectic side today. Oh, and I'm also lumping some of my all time favorite series into one too. Don't forget to leave me a link to your list and I'll be sure to drop by and check it out.  Also, if your interested I have a giveaway going on.

The Top Ten Books I'd Save if My House was on Fire!

1. Divergent by Veronica Roth - I picked this book up after being in a major reading slump and tore right through it.  To me Divergent is my second favorite dystopian YA series right behind The Hunger Games.

2. The Hunger Games Trilogy by Suzanne Collins - This is the first ever dystopian series I've ever read.  This series totally turned me on to the genre.  I'm still ticked off at myself for waiting as long as I did to read this series.  My co-workers threatened to disown me if I didn't read it.

3. The Black Dagger Brotherhood series by J.R. Ward - My first foray into "adult" vampires.  Zsadist is my all time favorite story so far.  I can hardly wait to continue on with this series so fire be damned!

4. Lonesome Dove by Larry McMurtry - This book is EPIC.  One of my all time favorite books EVER.  There are a lot of things I can do without but Lonesome Dove is not one of them.

5. Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi - I don't know what it was exactly about this book that had me buying it much less reading it but I LOVED it.  I really enjoyed the premise of the book a lot and the characters and story flow kept me engaged and connected.

6. Legend by Marie Lu - Another book that had a TON of hype around it prior to it's release.  I have yet another book boyfriend in Day.  There is a considerable amount of action in this book which kept the pace really clipping along.

7. Where the Red Fern Grows by Wilson Rawls - In grade school this was my all time favorite book.  I remember my 4th grade teacher read it to us in class everyday and it was a class favorite.  The only downside to this book is the ending.

8. The Little House on the Prarie series by Laura Ingalls Wilder - Another childhood favorite.  I live only a few hours from Pipin where the series starts out.

9. No Mercy by Lori Armstrong - Hands down my favorite mystery I've read so far.  I literally picked this book up on whim and tore through it like a bat out of hell.

10. My Nook/library card - because I to read.  If I don't read or do something to stimulate my brain bad things happen.

  2. The Hunger Games made my list too. I cheated a bit and included a lot of series instead of individual books.

    1. Thanks for stopping by! The Hunger Games and HP seem to be popluar books that would be saved this morning. It was sooo hard to pick just individual books for this one.

  3. I need to add Lonesome Dove to my TBR pile. And I haven't read Laura Ingalls in a long time so those are going on my re-read list.

  7. Must save Hunger Games, Divergent, and BDB series! I would save Shatter Me too. I want to read Legend really bad. I would probably save mostly just my signed books though.
